From the desk of the composer:
The composition is a tribute to the heroic family of Józef and Wiktoria Ulma and their offspring. These noble Righteous Among the Nations, while hiding their Jewish neighbors, did not heed the cruel Nazi threats prohibiting helping people doomed to the Holocaust. Guided by their humanity and the desire to help those in need, they paid the highest price -with their lives and the lives of their children.
When creating this piece, I, a man guided by Old Testament precepts, thought with emotion of the beautiful Davidic Psalm (15) from the Old Testament, and in particular, the sentence "Qui ingreditur sine macula et operatur iustitiam" - " One who walks with integrity, practices righteousness, And speaks truth in his heart."
May the Ulmas rest in peace on your holy mountain, oh Lord, greeted by the angelic hosts with fanfare and in honor of their humanity.

Kompozycja jest hołdem dla bohaterskiej rodziny Józefa i Wiktorii Ulmów i ich potomstwa. Ci szlachetni Sprawiedliwi wśród Narodów Świata ukrywając żydowskich sąsiadów nie zważali na okrutne groźby nazistowskie zakazujące pomocy ludziom skazanym na Zagładę. Kierując się humanizmem i chęcią niesienia pomocy potrzebującym zapłacili najwyższą cenę – życia swojego i swoich dzieci.
Tworząc ten utwór, ja człowiek podążający za przykazami starotestamentowymi, ze wzruszeniem myślałem o pięknym Psalmie Dawidowym (15) ze Starego Testamentu, a szczególnie o zdaniu „Qui ingreditur sine macula et operatur iustitiam” czyli „Ten, który postępuje bez skazy, działa sprawiedliwie, a mówi prawdę w swoim sercu”.
Niechaj Ulmowie mieszkają w spokoju na Twej świętej górze, Panie, witani przez zastępy anielskie fanfarami honorującymi ich człowieczeństwo.
